03 · Who We Are
My grandfather struggled to let things go. He worked his whole career to afford a Jaguar, which he loved working on himself. He kept every broken nut, bolt and washer from every repair. He kept every newspaper delivered to his home for forty years, convinced he might need to look back on one someday.
The truth is, the generations that came before us were scrappy, resourceful, and cared about memorable things. As a founding team, we inherited some of that. We share a passion for vintage clothes, wartime memorabilia, antiques - anything with a cool story.
If you’re looking for a team that doesn’t just want to buy your dad’s old Rolex, but one that can spot the value in the little things that were kept for a reason - we’d love to meet you.
Behind California Vintage Buyers is the team from Old 44 Vintage, a real brick-and-mortar shop at River Street Marketplace in San Juan Capistrano. Between the three of us, roughly twenty-five years of buying, selling, and living with vintage. That trade comes to you: house calls across Southern California, or our Laguna Hills warehouse by appointment. We are not a website with a phone number; we are the people who will be standing in your living room.

Hey guys, Sam here from California Vintage Buyers. Not only do we deal with all kinds of estates and auctions and property clearouts, but we also own Orange County's biggest vintage clothing store, called Old 44 Vintage, down in San Juan Capistrano. Therefore, we are a bulk buyer of all kinds of vintage clothing, 1990s and previous. We want to see it all. How do you know if something's vintage or not? Glad you asked. Here's a tell to know it's not vintage: printed tag. If you see that it looks like a stamp went on there and just made the tag, not vintage. Physical tag, it has a higher probability of being a vintage garment, especially if it says Made in USA. That's the main tell. But we buy leathers, military kind of stuff, western wear, sports, and most of all, graphic t-shirts. It could be a pink Harley-Davidson to a 1979 Pink Floyd concert tee. We love it. A 1940s Levi’s Type 1 jacket, sold to us by a former dealer who knew exactly what he had. We paid $12,000 in cash, the same day.

What do you buy?
Vintage clothing, especially pre-1970s denim and workwear, plus antiques, Pokemon and trading cards, collectibles, military memorabilia, jewelry, watches, advertising signage, and full estate contents. Furniture we buy selectively: as of August 2026, only mid-century and designer pieces with a maker's name. If it took a lifetime to collect, we want to see it.
Do you come to me?
Yes. One phone call and we drive out to your home anywhere in Southern California, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, the Inland Empire, Ventura, and Santa Barbara. We walk the home at your pace and look at everything.
Do you charge for a visit or appraisal?
No. The visit and the offer are free, and there is no obligation to sell.
How fast do you pay?
On the spot. If we agree on a price, you’re paid cash the same visit, no waiting on consignment, auctions, or online buyers.
Can you run a full estate sale?
Yes. If a sale makes more sense than a buyout, we organize and run the entire estate sale on your behalf, pricing, staffing, and clearing the home. One call handles everything.
